Think Positive

As Henry Ford famously once said, 'whether you think you can or think you can't, either way you are right.' This means that the only barrier to reaching your dreams is you! Yes, you read right - what you believe about yourself and your attitude can easily stop you from reaching your aspirations. Limiting beliefs can include any pre-conceived ideas you have about your ability or confidence to do a task. Maybe you think you are too old/young to achieve your dream. Perhaps you think 'I'm not good enough', 'I don't deserve that' or simply 'I can't'. Consider what other barriers are in your way and how many of these are internal limiting beliefs?

Identify your self-limiting beliefs - remember they are obstacles (and excuses!) that stop you moving forward in life. Remember it is your thinking rather than your reality in life that governs how you behave.

To banish your limiting beliefs boost your positive attitude. While being positive won't make you immune from life's tragedies, it will certainly reduce your stress levels and help you remain level headed at difficult times. Here are some simple steps to develop a positive attitude;

  • Use positive self-talk and affirmations
  • Visualise your success
  • Surround yourself with positive people and role models
  • Always be willing to learn and develop
  • Make your health and self-care a priority
  • 'Just do it' Take action immediately.
